Australia vs South Africa 3rd ODI: Have Australians not learned their lesson? Was leg-spinner Adam Zampa ball-tampering? Well, the answer is no, he was not ball-tampering but just warming his hands, something that is a common practice in Australia and England. If you watch the video closely, you will realise it become clearer when the cameras zoom in on him. He was using it as the weather was cold in Hobart.
Earlier in the year, the sandpaper gate grabbed a lot of attention as senior Australian cricketers, Steve Smith, and David Warner were caught in the middle of it as they had persuaded Cameron Bancroft to use a sandpaper to change the condition of the ball for favorable use. The cricketers were banned straightaway.
Meanwhile, South Africa won the match by 40 runs. David Miller for his consistent performance with the bat was awarded the Man of the Match and Series. He scored 139 off 125 balls in the 3rd ODI to help South Africa set a mammoth 321 for Australia to chase.
Shaun Marsh scored 105 and he was the lone warrior but unfortunately, no one else came good with a useful contribution as Australia could not get over the line.
