India vs Australia 1st Test: Australian opener Aaron Finch survived a near-injury after he got copped by a Mitchell Starc delivery at the nets ahead of the upcoming four-match Test series against India. The Australian team was practicing at Adelaide when the incident occurred. The extent of the finger injury is not known as yet and the team management will take a call on it on the eve of the Test match. Starc looked in good shape and sharp, also the left arm seamer was running in well and generating some serious pace. This is a good sign for the hosts who are a depleted unit that the leader of their pace battery is looking in rhythm.

Starc bowling at the nets should be a wake-up call for the Indian top order whom he will target along with Pat Cummins and Josh Hazlewood.

According to the experts, it seemed Aaron Finch will open the batting for Australia with Usman Khawaja. Now, the hosts will find themselves in a tricky spot if Finch gets unavailable for the opener at Adelaide.

Tourists, India too find themselves in a similar situation where Prithvi Shaw has been ruled out of the Test as he picked up an ankle injury during the tour game against Cricket Australia XI.
