The IAF pilot returned to India to a hero’s welcome after spending two days in Pakistan custody as a prisoner of war. “It is good to be back in my country,” were the first words of Abhinandan as he stepped back on the Indian soil. The Indian Air Force also took to Twitter to announce that their brave officer is back.

Yesterday, the Indian High Commission in Islamabad had completed the travel documentation of IAF pilot. Reportedly, Pakistani authorities will bring him from Rawalpindi to Lahore and hand him over to the International Committee of Red Cross (ICRC) under rules of the Geneva Convention.
