This is the most important clash of the season and Real Madrid and Barcelona are back again to enthrall fans in the La Liga. This year, it is a six pointer with the momentum of the title on the hands. Over the last few years, this iconic clash has been dubbed as a straight shootout between Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo. With more big names coming into both sides in recent times, this clash has stopped being a mere a Mohammad Ali- Joe Frazier contest. Also Read: Catch the Preview of the match here

Starsports promoted this contest as a battle between the strike forces of Europe getting together against that of Latin America. Uruguay’s Luis Suarez, Brazil’s Neymar and Argentina’s Messi will face off against European attacking front led by Portugal’s Ronaldo and the supporting cast comprises of Wales’s Gareth Bale and French striker, Karim Benzema. Apart from the aforementioned poster boys of football, there is quality all around the pitch.

So often the hot topic of debate throughout the season, Messi’s recent form has overshadowed the phenomenal form of Ronaldo, who is the most recent recipient of the Ballon d’Or. Madrid still have a slender lead in the title race, which has also swung back and forth the whole year. Madrid’s man of the hour has been Isco, who has been pulling the strings together in midfield.

Barca will enjoy home advantage though. With 98,000 Catalans packing the Camp Nou and getting behind the team, Luis Enrique’s side knows where they can find their 12th man. There is no love lost between the teams either. Tempers have calmed though from the days of Jose Mourinho at the helm of Madrid. Nonetheless, there will be feisty battles in all areas of the pitch. It is likely that a mistake would decide the outcome of this ‘El Clasico’.
