BCCI Announce Squads For Australia, New Zealand ODI Series: BCCI announced a 16-man squad for the upcoming ODI and T20I series respectively against Australia and New Zealand and the big news is the return of MS Dhoni to the ODI squad. Kedar Jadhav and Krunal Pandya have also been picked and Shikhar Dhawan also finds a spot in the squad. As expected, Virat Kohli will lead the side. Surprisingly, Dinesh Karthik, Rishabh Pant has been taken in the ODI mix, courtesy to their good performances of late.
It will be interesting to see who dons the gloves and what are the responsibilities designated to each of the glovemen. This will be India’s last chance to get some international 50-overs exposure before the mega ICC event net year, which is the 2019 Cricket World Cup, to be played in England and Wales.
The pacers would be Khaleel Ahmed, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Jasprit Bumrah and the all rounder’s role will be played by Hardik Pandya. In all probability, Rohit Sharma and Shikhar Dhawan would open the batting, which will be followed by Virat Kohli. Given the responsibility and form, Ambati Rayadu, Dinesh Karthik has shown recently, it would be a toss-up for the No 4 spot. It would also be interesting to see if KL Rahul finds a spot in the XI, given his recent performances.
