Ahead of the upcoming showpiece event in ICC World Cup in England and Wales, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) unveiled the new jersey for the national cricket team. The launch event was held on March 1 in Hyderabad, on the eve of 1st ODI between India and Australia at Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium. It is expected that Team India will don the newly-designed attire during the World Cup when India play their first game on June 5 against South Africa. The tournament in England and Wales will be played from May 30 to July 14.

India will be eyeing for their third title in England, the men in blue have won the prestigious World Cup twice so far. The first victory came under Kapil Dev’s captaincy in 1983 and in 2011 – Dhoni’s devils repeated the feat. Team India’s jersey was prepared by apparel partner Nike, it is sponsored by Oppo, a Chinese consumer electronics and mobile communications company. It is a tad lighter in shade compared to the previous jersey. The pictures released includes the likes of Dhoni, Indian captain Virat Kohli and Harmanpreet Kaur, the Indian Women’s T20I captain, who didn’t feature in the recently-concluded ODI series against England Women due to an injury.
