Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) President met former India captain MS Dhoni as part of the ‘Sampark for Samarthan’ Programme in Delhi. The campaign was launched by the ruling party on May 29 to mark four years of the Modi government. Union Railway Minister Piyush Goyal was also present during the meet. The programme that started on May 29 as part of the four-year celebrations of the Narendra Modi government. The party members are meeting high-profile Indian personalities and taking their feedback keeping the 2019 Lok Sabha elections in mind. Approximately 4000 party members, including BJP chief ministers, union ministers and panchayat members, have set a target of meeting about one lakh people. Kapil Dev, Saina Nehwal and Indian hockey legend Balbir Singh were the other sporting personalities the functionaries met before meeting MS Dhoni. Madhuri Dixit, industrialist Ratan Tata, Yoga Guru Ramdev and former Chief Justice of India RC Lahoti are some of the members from other walks of life who were met. “The motive of the campaign is to apprise people on how Modi government during the last four years uplifted the living standards of people in the country,” a BJP press release stated.

Meanwhile, MS Dhoni has just returned from the UK after the completion of limited overs series. His performances came under the scanner after he batted at a slow pace. He was also booed and jeered. He would be seen in action when India play the Asia Cup later in the year.
