BPL 2019: Australian banned cricketer David Warner’s Bangladesh Premier League 2019 did not go as scripted as he was run out in an unfortunate manner for 14 off 13 balls. Warner is representing the Sylhet Sixers in the league and a lot is expected of the star batsman this season. Warner went off for the run after Towhid Hridoy knocked the ball on the leg side and was not looking for a run, whereas Warner had already reached the other end and was left stranded as his partner did not respond. It was Shoaib Malik who affected the runout. A dejected Warner then waited for a while before walking off disappointed.

Here is the video of the runout:

Earlier, Comilla Victorians won the toss and opt to bowl and they restricted the Sixers for 127 runs in their stipulated 20 overs. Nicholas Pooran was the top-scorer for the Sixers, scoring 41 off 26. The Comilla Victorians won the match by four wickets as Shahid Afridi bagged the Man of the Match for his allround show. Afridi smashed a breathtaking 25-ball 37, an innings that helped Victorians win the match. Afridi also picked up a solitary wicket with the ball.
