
Liverpool and Manchester City will play their fourth round fixtures at their respective home grounds against Swansea City and Newcastle United.
Capital One Cup holders Manchester City will play struggling Newcastle United at the Etihad Stadium in the fourth round next month. Manuel Pellegrini’s side beat Sheffield Wednesday 7-0 while the Magpies crawled past Crystal Palace in extra-time by three goals to two at Selhurst Park.
Chelsea have been handed a trip to Shropshire to face League Two side Shrewsbury Town at New Meadow, following their 2-1 victory over Bolton Wanderers while Liverpool have been handed a clash at Anfield against fellow Barcalys Premier League outfit Swansea City. Brendan Rodgers’ side survived the longest penalty shootout in the competition’s history against Middlesbrough while the Welsh club humbled the Reds’ Merseyside rivals Everton, 3-0.
Tottenham Hotspur too were handed a home fixture at White Hart Lane against League One’s Brighton & Hove Albion. Meanwhile, Southampton earned their place in the fourth round by beating Arsenal and the Saints will travel to the Britannia Stadium to face Stoke City.
