Shreyas Iyer and Priyansh Arya scored hundreds as India A recorded a huge 171-run win against Australia A in the opening unofficial ODI at Green Park Stadium on Wednesday.

Shreyas Iyer and Priyansh Arya hit centuries to help India A secure a dominant 171-run victory over Australia A in the first unofficial ODI at Green Park Stadium on Wednesday. India A put up a record total of 413/6 – their highest List A score at home against Australia A – and later bowled out the visitors for 242 in just 33.1 overs.

How were Shreyas Iyer and Priyansh Arya’s performances?

Shreyas, making a return to the India A side, scored a smooth 110 from 83 balls. Priyansh was equally impressive, smashing 101 off 84 balls. The two added 132 runs together after Priyansh had already shared a 135-run stand for the first wicket with Prabhsimran Singh, who made 56 from 53 balls.

Riyan Parag (67 off 42) and Ayush Badoni (50 off 27) added quick runs in the middle overs, pushing the total past 400. This total broke India A’s previous best of 371/3 against South Africa A in Chennai (2015), and was also the biggest score ever conceded by Australia A in List A history.

How were the Aussies in the match?

Australia A started their chase well, with Mackenzie Harvey scoring 68 and Lachlan Shaw adding 45. But their batting fell apart after Nishant Sindhu took two wickets in one over (22nd), and Ravi Bishnoi bowled a sharp spell. Sindhu ended with 4 wickets for 50 runs, while Bishnoi picked up 2 for 49.

Captain Will Sutherland tried to fight back with a quick 50 from 33 balls, but the result was already beyond reach. Despite tricky conditions like dew and a quick outfield, India A’s bowlers stayed on top. Badoni, Yudhvir Singh, Gurjapneet Singh, and Simranjeet Singh also took important wickets.
