Australia have included Mitchell Starc and Chris Lynn in their 15-member squad for the Champions Trophy, with the hope that the duo recover on time before the tournament starts in June in England.

Starc got injured during the India Test series while Lynn hurt his shoulder during an IPL game, playing for his franchise Kolkata Knight Riders. Also Read: South Africa recall Morne Morkel for Champions Trophy

The notable omission is James Faulkner while Australia have named John Hastings and James Pattinson in the squad. Moises Henriques also got a call up, edging out Faulkner out of the squad.

Pattinson last played an ODI in September 2015 but has been in top form since making a return from injury. He took 24 wickets for Victoria in Sheffield Shield and then followed up with 13 wickets from two matches in the County Championship for Nottinghamshire.

Henriques inclusion comes as a surprise after having played only eight matches between his debut in 2009 and his last match in August 2016.

Squad:

Steve Smith (capt), David Warner, Pat Cummins, Aaron Finch, John Hastings, Josh Hazlewood, Travis Head, Moises Henriques, Chris Lynn, Glenn Maxwell, James Pattinson, Mitchell Starc, Marcus Stoinis, Matthew Wade, Adam Zampa.
