Christchurch Mosque Shooting: New Zealand vs Bangladesh Test at the Hagley Oval got cancelled following a shooting at a mosque. The name of the mosque is Masjid al Noor. It horror incident took place when the Bangladeshi players were on their way to the mosque to offer the Friday prayers. It was a woman standing at the gate of the mosque who indicated the players about the gunman inside the mosque. The players in utter shock returned to the team bus and left for the hotel. Talking to New Zealand Herald, Bangladesh’s team strength and conditioning coach, Mario Villavarayen revealed: “The players are shaken up but fine. I spoke to one of them shortly after (the incident). They didn’t see anything but heard gunshots. They were at the ground and just started running. The entire coaching staff was at the hotel. The players just started running when they heard the shots. I don’t know how many (gunshots) there were. This happened at about 1.45pm.”
