Copa-America-Schedule

The 44th edition of the Copa America or the 2015 Copa America is underway. The exciting clash of South American national teams kicked off in Chile on June 11 and will continue till July 4, 2015. With India being one of the hub of football crazy fans, catching the marquee international football tournament of South America is a big deal. One of the biggest football event will feature 12 teams, with Mexico and Jamaica the invited participants alongside the 10 teams from the continent. The 12 teams are drawn into three groups comprising of four teams each. The two teams finishing on top will advance to the quarterfinal and joining them will be the two of the best teams finishing third in the group. Also Read: Copa America 2015 – Sony Six bags telecast rights in South Asia.

The inaugural match will be played at the Estadio Nacional Julio Martinez Pradanos in Santiago with Chile taking on Ecuador, who are drawn alongside Mexico and Bolivia. Uruguay, the most successful team in the competition with 15 titles, are drawn in Group B with Argentina, Paraguay and Jamaica. Group C will feature two other favourites Brazil and Colombia with Peru and Venezuela.

Santiago will play host to the first semi-final as well as the final while Concepcion is allotted the second semi-final and the third place play-off. Kick-off times in IST unless mentioned otherwise. The full fixture list with the venues are as follows:

For the last eight, the team that finishes on top from Group A will face the third place team from Group B or C and the match will be played in Santiago. The runners-up in the same group will take on the runners-up from Group C at the Estadio Municipal Germán Becker, Temuco. Estadio Sausalito in Viña del Mar that features only two group matches will see its last game as the winner from Group B take on the third placed team from Group A or C. Estadio Municipal de Concepción, Concepción will host the last quarterfinal between the winner from Group C and runners-up from Group B.
