Pakistan will look to complete the comeback and seal the three-match Test series against England with a win in the third Test at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium starting on Thursday (October 24). The home side bounced back sensationally to win the second Test in Multan by 152 runs with spinners Noman Ali and Sajid Khan bagging all 20 wickets.
England had won the first Test, also in Multan, by an innings and 47 runs by posting a record 823 for 7 declared with Harry Brook scoring a triple century and Joe Root coming up with a double. Ben Stokes-led side have made a few changes to the side, bolstering their spin attack by adding leg-spinner Rehan Ahmed to join left-arm spinner Jack Leach and off-spinner Shoaib Bashir.
All-rounder Gus Atkinson also comes back into the side after missing the second Test, which will boost the batting of the visiting side. Pakistan, on the other hand, have decided to go into the third Test with the same playing 11 which won the second Test.
Pakistan have won five of their last 15 Tests in Rawalpindi but the last one came back in 2021 – a 95-run win over South Africa. Since then, Pakistan have lost three out of the last four Tests at this venue, including back-to-back games against Bangladesh.
