Portuguese star footballer Cristiano Ronaldo is always compared to his Argentine counterpart Lionel Messi across different aspects of the game and when a one surpasses the other, it is considered a major bragging right for the fans.
In Ronaldo’s recent Champions League outing with his club Juventus, he hit the century mark of goals scored in the competition. He achieved the milestone to become the highest-ever scorer in the Champions League history. Doing so, he has beaten Lionel Messi to achieve the record.
Since making his move from Real Madrid, Ronaldo has had quite an impressive season for Italian club Juventus, Scoring 10 and assisting five in 16 appearances. Juventus stands on top of the Serie A table and is most likely to win the league title again.
In UEFA Champions League history:
Most goals: Cristiano Ronaldo – 121
Most wins: Cristiano Ronaldo – 100
Most assists: Cristiano Ronaldo – 35
Most titles: Cristiano Ronaldo – 5
Should that happen, Ronaldo would have won the title across three different major leagues – Premier League with Manchester United, La Liga with Real Madrid and Serie A with Juventus (if it happens).
Ronaldo had a slow start to his campaign but now he is firing in all cylinders and his club has benefitted massively from his form.
