ENG v PAK: Not every catch wins you a match, even if the catch is stunning like the one Junaid Khan took in his follow through against England. It was also a special catch because it was towards his wrong side, yet he managed to hold onto it to dismiss Joe Denly. It happened in the 40th over with England still needing eight and a half runs per over to win. It was a short ball, directed at Denly, he got a little cramped and the ball hit the top of the bat hence it did not get the timing and the desired distance.
Here is the video:
Once he took the catch, his teammates rejoice along with him. Pakistan at that stage must have thought that they have got an opening but that was not to be as England beat Pakistan by three wickets. Pakistan has lost nine of their last 10 ODI matches which do not make for a good reading a couple of weeks ahead of the World Cup.
Meanwhile, Pakistan lost the match by three wickets despite posting a mammoth 340 in their allotted 50 overs. Jason Roy (114 off 89 balls) and Ben Stokes (71* off 64 balls) starred as England won the game with three balls to spare.
