Sri Lanka made two changes from the last Test. Surprisingly, Dasun Shanaka, who bowled well in the first Test, was dropped and Milinda Siriwardana was added. Suranga Lakmal also replaced injured Dushmantha Chameera, who will return home from England following a lower back injury.
Jonny Bairstow and Alex Hales were to performers with the bat for England in the first Test and the duo shared run stand for the sixth wicket. James Anderson claimed ten-wicket match haul to help his side win the first Test.
