Even after 100 overs of cricket, there was no winner between England and Sri Lanka. The visitors had set a target of 287. England’s response began on a jittery note and after 18 overs the home side was struggling at 82 for six.
Jos Buttler and Chris Woakes then shared a 138-run stand for the seventh wicket to take England to close a target which at one stage looked improbable. The match swung from Sri Lanka to England as Buttler and Woakes did the repair job.

Buttler was then dismissed for 93 and that left Woakes with a bulk of job to do. He found an able partner in Liam Plunkett. With England needing seven on the last ball of the match, Plunkett smashed fast bowler Nuwan Pradeep over long-off for a six to tie the match.
