From the opening whistle, the Gunners were in complete control of the contest and got their possession game going, knocking from side to side and waiting for the opportune moment to create an opening. Iwobi got a cross from the left wing and he floated a ball in, Sanchez control it calmly and shot on goal. The ball bounced back off Huerelho Gomes and Sanchez pounced on the rebound bundled it into the net. Watford were peg Arsenal back and Arsenal controlled possession and looked every inch like doubling their lead.
Iwobi pounced on a chance in the area but Arsenal were not finished. However, they were caught out on the break but David Ospina, deputizing for Petr Cech made a blinder of a one-hand save to keep the clean sheet intact. The third game came from Bellerin, who broke into the area. His shot took a big deflection before leaving the ‘keeper flat-footed and rolling into the net. The icing on the cake came through Theo Walcott. Joel Campbell left his marker for dead with a stylish step-over and cut the ball back to the onrushing Walcott, who was unmarked in the box. It was the simplest of tap-ins. Arsenal had the ball on the ground for large spells in the game. Danny Welbeck, though not getting on the scoresheet was a constance menace in the final third. Arsenal lie six points below Tottenham in the table.
