India captain Virat Kohli hit a fluent 68 off 83 balls against Essex side in the ongoing 3-Day practice match at County Ground, Chelmsford on Day 1. But what followed was Essex Cricket took to their Twitter handle to post Kohli’s dismissal and the post read, ‘Not Bad At Cricket’. This post was made when the India captain brought up his 50 off 67 balls. It somehow did not go down well with the numerous fans of Virat, who slammed Essex Cricket.

Here is what Essex Cricket tweeted when Virat flicked a ball on his pads to bring up his fifty.

Here are the trolls that followed:

Meanwhile, India got off to a forgetful start after winning the toss and opting to bat first. Shikhar Dhawan was played-down for a golden duck. To make things worse, Pujara departed for 1. At that stage, it looked like India was going to crumble. But Murali Vijay and Virat Kohli had different ideas. They hit 50s and brought the Indian inning on track. But what will still hurt Kohli is the way he was dismissed, looking to flirt for balls outside the off-stump, something that led to his downfall in the 2014 series.

That year he got off 1, 8, 25, 0, 39, 28, 0,7, 6 and 20 in the five Tests, averaging 13.50 in his 10 innings. In coloured clothes then, he got scores of 0, 40, 1* and 13. He will certainly like to rectify that and put the record straight.

At the time of filing this story, Essex were 108/ 2 in reply to India’s 395.
