New Delhi: The semi-final match between India A and Bangladesh A in the Asia Cup Rising Stars 2025 played in Doha was thrilling until the last ball. Chasing a target of 195, Team India scored a decent 194/6 to tie the match, but the Indian team collapsed completely in the decisive Super Over, and Bangladesh A secured a place in the final.
India A batted first in the Super Over, but the most surprising decision came when captain Jitesh Sharma himself came onto the field, while aggressive batsman Vaibhav Suryavanshi was left out. This decision left everyone stunned.
Bangladesh fast bowler Ripon Mondol ended the match on the first two balls of the Super Over. Jitesh Sharma was bowled while attempting a reverse lap, and Ashutosh Sharma was caught at extra cover on the second ball. India A’s Super Over innings ended for 0.
Although the target was just 1 run, Bangladesh’s innings also witnessed drama. Yasir Ali tried to play a big shot on the first ball and was caught at long-on. Subsequently, Suyash Sharma’s wide delivery down the leg side gave Bangladesh A the victory.

Although India showed great spirit to draw the match, the decisions and batting order in the Super Over remained questionable. In particular, the omission of a big-hitting player like Vaibhav Suryavanshi proved to be a major reason for the team’s defeat.
