The moment the entire football fraternity and fans have been waiting for is finally upon us! The FIFA Ballon d’Or or the world’s best player for the year 2014 will be declared at the Zurich Kongresshaus in Switzerland on Monday. The main ceremony is due to begin at 11:00 pm IST and you can watch the event live on FIFA’s official website or on their official YouTube page. Live telecast of the Gala in India will be on Star Sports 4 and Star Sports HD 2.
Real Madrid’s Cristiano Ronaldo, Barcelona’s Lionel Messi and Germany’s World Cup winning goalkeeper Manuel Neuer have been nominated for the World’s Best Player title. The ceremony will begin with the announcement of the FIFA FIFPro World XI. It will also see the Puskas Award, which is given away to the best goal scored between 3 October 2013 and 26 September 2014. The focus will also be the female counterparts as Nadine Kessler, Abby Wambach and Marta will vie for the Women’s Player of the Year title.

FIFA World Coach of the Year for Men: Carlo Ancelotti (Real Madrid), Joachim Loew (Germany) and Diego Simeone (Atletico Madrid).
FIFA Women’s Player of the Year: Nadine Kessler (Germany), Abby Wambach (USA) and Marta (Brazil).
FIFA World Coach of the Year for Women: Ralf Kellerman (Germany), Maren Meinert (Germany) and Norio Sasaki (Japan).
FIFA Puskas Award: Stephanie Roche (For Peamount United vs Wexford Youths), James Rodriguez (For Colombia vs Uruguay) and Robin Van Persie (For Netherlands vs Spain).
