India may not be a part of the FIFA World Cup 2018, but Indian football fans are unparalleled. A 30-year-old Lionel Messi fan who went missing on June 21, after Argentina lost 3-0 to to Croatia has been found dead near Illikkal Bridge in Kottayam. The name of the fan is Dinu Joseph. We are not certain what caused the death. According to his father, P V Alexander, Dinu was at home watching Argentina take on Croatia, the match was at 11:30 pm IST. At 4.30 am, Dinu’s mother Chinnamma found the back door unlocked and that is when she realised that Dinu was not in the room. Dinu’s colleague Sumesh who is also an Argentina fan said, “When we left office at 7 pm on Thursday, Dinu was a bit nervous about Argentina’s chances as the team was in the danger zone after the surprise 1-1 draw against Iceland.”



According to Dinu’s cousin, Dinu has scribbled on a notebook that he is ready to give up his life for Messi’s Argentina so that they can lift the World Cup.

A suicide note was also found near his body. He also had a huge collection of Messi’s pictures.
