Defending champions Germany lost to South Korea 2-0 which was the biggest shock of the FIFA World Cup 2018 thus far. Earlier, Germany lost to Mexico 1-0 as well. After having such a poor run at the WC, German fans present in Moscow could not keep a lid on their emotions and tried to vent out anger on the German footballers.

The anger meant that Ozil too got involved in a brwal with the fans after the shock exit. Earlier, in another match played between Brazil and Serbia, we saw fans clashing in the stands as well. Meanwhile, Brazil made it to the Round of 16 on the back of a 2-0 victory over Serbia.

But what we understand is that things get way out of control when it is the biggest stage of football, the FIFA World Cup 2018. A couple of nights ago, we alo saw how emotional legend Diego Maradona got during Argentina’s 2-1 victory over Nigeria that saw them scrape into the Round of 16.

So here is what happened…

A group of supporters, positioned near the tunnel, directed their rage in the midfielder’s direction and he reacted in kind.

But, on the other hand, there were also reports of how German fans thanked the Russian authorities for their hospitality.

“Dear fans, we are just as disappointed as you are. We apologize that we did not play like world champions. Therefore, we have quite deserved losing our title. We congratulate Sweden and Mexico on reaching playoffs, and South Korea on their victory. We thank Russia for their hospitality,” the German team posted on their official Twitter account.
