Egytian footballer Mohamed Salah is set to retire after he accepted he accepted Chechnya citizenship from controversial leader Ramzan Kadyrov. He could be free from his Egyptian duties mid-way through FIFA World Cup 2018. Photographs of the two started doing the rounds even before the Cup got underway. Kadyrov is known as a ruler who has violated human laws in the past and hence he is infamous. Apparently, he is being used as a political symbol by the leader. Meanwhile, Salah did not start the Egypt’s opening encounter as he was recovering from an injury. Salah has scored 44 international goals and also plays for Liverpool in the English Premier League. 

‘Mohamed Salah thanked us for the surprisingly warm and good reception, excellent attitude to the team, excellent living conditions and training,’ Kadyrov posted on Russian social network site VK .
