Date and Time of the Opening Ceremony (IST):
The opening ceremony will begin at 6:30 PM IST on June 14, Thursday.
Centre of attraction for the opening ceremony:
Will Smith and Nicky Jam will perform at the official song of the tournament “Live It Up”. Along with that, the Global music icon Robbie Williams and Russian operatic soprano Aida Garifullina will entertain millions of people around the world. Brazil’s Ronaldo, two times FIFA World Cup Champion will also present in the open ceremony which will brighten up the event.

In this edition of the FIFA World Cup, 32 countries have qualified to the final stages and all of them have been pooled into eight groups of four each. And, the top two team from each group will qualify for the knockouts i.e., in the Round of 16.
The host country, Russia will take on Saudi Arabia in the opening game which is going to kick off after the opening ceremony.
