Former Indian captain split the beans on a lot of issues relating to cricket and a lot of other things in a candid chat with ESPNCricinfo. India’s famous No 3 went on to also reveal the batsman he would name to ‘bat for his life’. It was no surprise that Rahul Dravid went with his ex-colleague, Sachin Tendulkar. Rahul and Sachin have played the lions share of cricket in their career together, hence there is a vivid sense of mutual admiration, one has for the other.

In the Test outfit, Rahul at No 3 was followed by Sachin Tendulkar at 4. Both have stitched memorable partnerships together. In ODI cricket, their partnership of 331 runs is the highest, it happened against New Zealand in 1998. In Tests, one of their most memorable partnerships was the 222 runs against Bangladesh in 2010. Both the legendary cricketers also saw the lows together. They were a part of the 2007 ICC World Cup squad which did not even make the knockouts in West Indies.

On a hilarious front, Dravid was also asked, what was the most memorable headline of your career. To which Dravid said, “Dravid Helps St. Joseph’s Win Title”.

In fact, during Rahul ‘Wall’ Dravid’s retirement speech, Sachin was not present and that sparked rumours. But now everything is settled, now that Rahul Dravid has made such a huge revelation.

Dravid is currently the coach of the India A team and earlier this year was the coach of the U19 ICC World Cup-winning squad. Dravid is rated very highly as a mentor, he is also responsible for mentoring young turks like Prithvi Shaw, Shubman Gill and Rishabh Pant.
