A couple of days ago former Australian opener Matthew Hayden injured his neck and head while surfing. The Australian great also shared pictures of the injury in an Instagram post. But, now it seems former South African great Jonty Rhodes has poked fun at the Australian. The Protean has drawn a parallel of Hayden’s scar to that of the map of Tamil Nadu. Hayden had made an Instagram post which read, “Ok. Last attention seeking post I promise. Just wanted to say a big thank you to all our mates on Straddie who have been so supportive. Especially Ben & Sue Kelley for the fast diagnosis with MRI, CT scan. Fractured C6, torn C5, C4 ligaments safe to say I truly have dodged a bullet. Thank you everyone On the road to recovery.” Also Read - Shane Watson to Retire From All Forms of Cricket: Report
To this Rhodes replied, “Is that a map of the Tamil Nadu coast you are wearing on your forehead? Real commitment, buddy! Some of us softies take the easy option and just get tattoos.”
The former Australian has taken up commentary after cricket. He is often seen doing commentary in the IPL and still enjoys a massive fan following in Chennai because he is a regular at the Tamil Nadu Premier League. He played 103 Test matches and 161 ODIs for Australia amassing 8625 and 6133 runs in the respective formats before retiring in January 2009.
