With its huge fanbase in the 1.25 billion country, Cricket is unarguably one of the highest paid sport in India. The average Indian cricketer is known to rake in sufficient money which is leaps and bounds beyond other sportspersons representing the nation. On Monday, the world’s richest cricket board – Board Of Control For Cricket In India (BCCI) has revealed the payment details of top Indian cricketers including Virat Kohli and Co.
The board also share the beans on salary structure of head coach Ravi Shastri, who receives a whopping amount of INR 2.05 crore for his services to the Indian cricket team. The amount given to Shastri is his advance fees for his services for a period of three months.
One of the most bankable crickets in the world, India captain Virat Kohli too received a mind-boggling amount of INR 1,25,04,964 as his match fees for the South Africa series and the prize money from ICC. The players have received the salaries as retainer fees for their central contracts and match fees.
In addition to these, the Test players also got their share of ICC Test rankings prize money received from the ICC. The share of each player from ICC’s prize money was INR 29,27,700.
