India will now face England in the semi-finals on Thursday, March 5th at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. The first semi-final is scheduled for Wednesday, March 4th, between South Africa and New Zealand in Kolkata. The final match of the tournament will be played on Sunday, March 8th, at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.

As he showcased a mesmerizing innings against West Indies in the important Super 8 game and helped his side to chase the mammoth 196-run target against the two-time champions of the tournament with four balls to spare. He smashed 97 runs off 50 balls, including 12 fours and four sixes and won Player of the Match award. After his explosive knock, head coach Gautam Gambhir was seen emotional as India reached the semi-finals.
