Gautam Gambhir is no ordinary cricketer, he is someone who has a strong opinion on subjects ranging from politics to terrorism. But lately, he has taken on Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and in his tweet has criticised him for failing to do anything on the rising pollution and dengue rates in Delhi. Gambhir’s tweet read, ” दर्दे दिल, दर्दे जिगर दिल्ली में जगाया AAP ने, पहले तो यहाँ Oxygen था, Oxygen भगाया AAP ने।” @ArvindKejriwal @AamAadmiParty our generations are going up in smoke like your false promises. U had 1 full year to tame dengue &pollution, sadly you couldn’t control either. For the past couple of years, the Air Quality Level in the national capital has gone from bad to worse. In order to curb pollution, Kejriwal came up with an odd-even scheme but that too seems to have not worked and the common man of Delhi is reeling under pollution which is affecting their health. Looking at this, as a concerned citizen Gambhir has raised this issue. Now, it would be interesting to see if the Chief Minister responds or not.

On October 31, the air quality index of Delhi was recorded at 366 by the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB). As for the categorisation, AQI between 0 and 50 is considered ‘good’, 51 and 100 ‘satisfactory’, 101 and 200 ‘moderate’, 201 and 300 ‘poor’, 301 and 400 ‘very poor’, 401 and 500 ‘severe’ and so on.

On the cricketing front, Gambhir last played a Test for India back in 2016 and has been a part of the World Cup-winning squad twice (2007 WT20, 2011 ICC Cricket World Cup).
