Gujarat Fortunegiants vs Dabang Delhi K.C PKL 5: Gujarat Beat Delhi 26-20

Gujarat Fortuegiants defeated Dabang Delhi K.C in their opening match of the Pro-Kabbadi League 2017 26-20. Gujarat won the match by six points.

Meanwhile, Dabang Delhi’s debutante R. Sriram received the ‘Raider of the Match’ award. At the same time, Gujarat’s left-corner defender Fazel Atrachali won the ‘Player of the Match, while Sachin won the ‘Shahi he Player’ award.

Gujarat made a stunning start to the match as they took a 15-5 lead in the first half. In the second half, Dabang Delhi failed to keep the composure in front of Fortunegiants’ defense. Midway through the game, Gujarat were leading the match by 16 points 15-9.

But, Dabang Delhi after getting all out for the second time in the match made a stunning comeback. They scored 11 points in a row while Gujarat managed to score one point in this period. However, it was too late for them.

For Gujarat Rakesh Narwal, Sukesh Hegde and  Sachin scored three points each.

However, this is a good start for Gujarat Fortunegiants. The Gujarat defense also kept Delhi’s last match hero Meraj Sheykh outside for 14 minutes in the match and didn’t let the player score.
