Happy Birthday Andre Russell: The West Indian all-rounder once again proved why he is one of the most destructive modern-day players. He smashed a breathtaking 80 off 40 balls to power KKR to the highest total of the season, 232. Not just that, he also came good with the ball as he scalped two crucial wickets. It was the perfect gift he could give himself on his birthday. Russell turned 30 and he celebrated his birthday in style. All the KKR players gathered after the match for the cake-cutting ceremony. Russell cut the cake and then got cake smashed by his KKR colleagues.

Here is the video of how Russell celebrated his 30th birthday:

“I am a fan of Avengers. Hand-eye co-ordination is important. I generate a lot of power from the core. You need to make sure your body is fit and strong. That shot was a surprise for me as well. We have given ourselves a chance. Hopefully, the result in the next two games goes our way. We needed to get 200-plus but getting 230 was just enough,” said Russell at the post-match presentation.

Meanwhile, the Knight Riders won the match by 34 runs. KKR managed to win their 100th IPL match in their last game at Eden Gardens. With the win, KKR managed to stay afloat in the league.

“Russell is a great player, he’s a special player and it’s good to see him grow as a player. The maturity he’s showing is great to see. I was just talking about the same to him. These balls cost a lot and we need to ask him to keep calm. We live another day, that’s important and the crowd has been fantastic,” sais Dinesh Karthik at the post-match presentation.
