Happy Birthday Rahul Dravid: India Test batsman Cheteshwar Pujara wished his ‘idol’ Rahul Dravid as the former legend turned 46. Hailed as the ‘original Wall’, Dravid has been one of the greats in Indian cricket and hence it was ideal that his successor wished him. Both the cricketers have been India’s valued No 3 in Tests and have been players who have possessed a whole lot of patience throughout their careers for which they are lauded and often get compared. Pujara took to Twitter and his post read, “Happy birthday Rahulbhai! In his debut Test at Lord’s where Sourav Ganguly was also playing his first Test, Dravid enthralled everyone with an innings of 95 but nearly missed out on the coveted three-figure mark. He holds the record of hitting Test hundreds against every nation he played. also known as the ‘Mr Dependable – Dravid was known for his ability to stand tall in front of daunting attacks, especially overseas, and the way he many a time thwarted opponents thereby pulling his team out of trouble.

In 164 Tests, Dravid scored 13,288 runs at an astonishing average of 52.31 including 36 hundreds and 63 fifties. In the white-ball format, he mounted 10,889 runs in 344 ODIs at an average of 39.16 including 12 centuries and 83 fifties. He was also considered one of the better fielders in the side especially in the slips as he took a world record 210 catches in that position.

Meanwhile, after amassing 521 runs in seven innings, comprising of three centuries in Australia, Pujara bagged the Man of the Series and the Man of the Match in the final Test at Sydney.
