What once was a golden-pair of Indian cricket are now exemplary figures of bromance – Harbhajan Singh and Yuvraj Singh – the duo who have won everything that an aspiring cricketer grows up dreaming, formed a strong bond both on and off the field. Recently, ‘Bhajji’ took to his social media to post a picture of him and Yuvraj where both seem to be enjoying a great camaraderie, very much what like their on-field chemistry reflected back in the day. If you’re an Indian cricket fan, this picture may make you a tad nostalgic.
Both these cricketers will be participating in the upcoming Indian premier league (IPL). Harbhajan Singh will don the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) jersey, while Yuvi will be seen with his new team, Mumbai Indians. The latter’s auctions in the recently-concluded IPL auctions was rather dramatic. Several fans thought we would be teaming up with Bhajji and Dhoni in CSK but that did not happen.
In fact, It seemed the veteran all-rounder will go unsold, but at the last instance, the Mumbai Indians brought him at his base price of Rs 1 Crore. Yuvi was a part of the Kings XI Punjab franchise in the last season of the IPL, but he did not get among the runs which eventually led to the franchise releasing him. The two-time World Cup winning southpaw is at the fag end of his career and but Mumbai Indians roped him in to add more experience and depth in their squad.
This could be a turning point for the iconic Indian batsman, who will aim to rekindle his form and fire on all cylinders with his old pal, Rohit Sharma. A good display in the tournament could event foster the chance of his return to the Indian national team and perhaps, even the World Cup.
It will good to see the duo of Bhajji and Yuvi again in the IPL for their respective teams later this year.
