In what could be the biggest ‘Kolpak casualty’ in South African cricket star batsman Hashim Amla is considering to leave his country for a career in county circuit. If an Independent Media report is to be believed, Amla has been approached by various counties, including a London club, to prolong his playing career on the English county circuit.

This comes after it was reported that Proteas fast bowler Morne Morkel, who has been approached by Warwickshire, is considering the Kolpak deal. Stiaan van Zyl and Dane Vilas have recently accepted the Kolpak contracts and now play for Sussex and Lancashire respectively.

The 34-year-old batsman is in the middle of an impressive career. Amla, who averages 49, has scored 8281 runs in 107 Test matches and is a vital cog in the South African batting order. The right-hander averages over 50 in ODIs and has 25 centuries against his name. The talented batsman is the fastest to 2,000, 3,000, 4,000 and 5,000 runs in ODIs.
