Ravi Rampaul comes to bowl his final over of the innings. After Wells gives the strike to Malik, the 32-year-old Pakistani slams the ball high towards mid-on in hope for a six. The trajectory is way too high and the ball could have been caught easily; but Ashley Nurse fails to get a touch on the ball as it drops let along collect it. They exchange a couple of runs and a single to put Wells on strike. 6′ 7″ tall Jason Holder comes into the attack in hope to prevent the Hurricanes from scoring the winning runs. The task seems difficult for the Caribbean outfit but he fails to break their partnership. He gives away seven runs in his first over that includes a wide ball. The Australian outfit now need 20 runs from 24 balls to win this match. Malik: 24 runs from 25 balls – Wells: 15 runs from 13 balls.

Shoaib Malik and Jonathan Wells managed to add another seven runs to the total in Akeal Hosein’s last over. No boundaries, just three singles and two doubles off this over.  Malik: 22 runs from 22 balls  – Wells: 11 runs from 10 balls

03:30 PM IST: Hobart Hurricanes skipper Tim Paine won the toss and elected to bowl against Barbados Tridents in Group B of Champions League T20 (CLT20) 2014 at the Punjab Cricket Association (PCA) Stadium in Mohali on Sunday.

Hobart Hurricanes have the advantage going into the match as they are touted as the favourites to win the Group B contest against the Barbados Tridents who are yet to win a match at the Champions League Twenty20 tournament. The Australian team has won two of the three matches till now and a massive victory against the Northern Knights in their previous game, they will be very confident to face the winless Barbados team with a hint of grief from their only defeat in the tournament to Kings XI Punjab coming at Mohali over a week back.

Aiden Blizzard and Ben Hilfenhaus have been the key players who have performed leading to the success of the team. The presence of a well chosen team gives balance to the side wit the likes of Doug Bollinger, Xavier Doherty and Tim Paine among others which the Caribbean side lacks and the reliance of key players puts a lot of pressure on them. The burden of an entire team’s performance of a few players is never going to work wonders for a prolonged period, if at all, and that is the case with the Barbados Tridents.
