Bhubaneshwar, Dec 8: Team India lost to Argentina in the Semi-Finals of the Hockey World League Final in Bhubaneshwar on Friday. With this, Argentina, with the score being 1-0 against India, managed to reach their first ever final at the Hockey World League. With this defeat, India will now face the losing team between Australia and Germany for the bronze medal on Sunday.

The narrow 1-0 came in early during the match’s first seventeen minutes. Peillat Gonzalo scored this only goal of the match that sealed the fate of the Indian team in Bhubaneshwar on Friday. In spite of an early setback, the Indian team however tried to score an equaliser and find the right opening to the finals, but were unsuccessful in doing so. Numerous inroads were made into the opposition team’s box, but their efforts came undone.

India also had two penalty corners, but failed to turn the tables.

With this win in the Semis, the Argentinian team will face the winner of the match between Australia and Germany in the finals on Saturday.
