Johannesburg, Feb.5: Former England all-rounder Ian Botham has backed his country’s players to win the ongoing five-match ODI series against South Africa by a margin of 5-0.

England have already taken a 1-0 lead in the series following their 39-run win by the Duckworth/Lewis method against South Africa in a rain-hit opening ODI at the Mangaung Oval in Bloemfontein. Describing the England side as `young and exciting`, the 60-year-old great believes that England had no reason to lose the series as they had gained a lot of confidence following the Test series win. Botham also called on England to capitalize on South Africa’s injury concerns and also backed them to win the series in style, Sport24 reported. South Africa had been clean-swept only once under Graeme Smith’s leadership during a five-match ODI series against Sri Lanka in 2004. England will now play their second against South Africa at St. George’s Park in Port Elizabeth on Saturday.
