ICC T20 World Cup 2016 Points Table & Team Standings: New Zealand, England, India, West Indies proceed to semi-finals

West Indies and England progressed to the semi-finals from group 1 while New Zealand and India are the teams from group 2. The Windies were the second team to progress from the group stages, soon after New Zealand completed a cleen sweep of their group games. England played true to form to beat Sri Lanka by 10 runs and progress to the semifinal of the tournament. Put into bat, England made 171 for 4 in 20 overs. In response, Sri Lanka were restricted to 161 for 8 in 20 overs.
Vidarbha Cricket Association Stadium in Nagpur, Eden Gardens in Kolkata, Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai, Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association Stadium in Dharamsala, M.Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru, Punjab Cricket Association Stadium in Mohali and Feroz Shah Kotla in Delhi are the venues. Bangladesh and Afghanistan proceeded from Group Stage of World T20 2016 to Super 10 round or main draw. Afghanistan moves to Group 1 while Bangladesh joins Group 2. Ten teams have been divided into two groups of five each and top two teams from each group will advance to semifinals.
Group 1 consists of defending champions Sri Lanka, South Africa, England, West Indies and Afghanistan while hosts India, New Zealand, Australia, Pakistan and Bangladesh feature in Group 2. The final will be played at Eden Gardens on April 3, 2016. This is the sixth edition of the ICC World T20, which began in the year 2007.
India lifted the title in the inaugural year. Pakistan then won the trophy in 2009 followed by England in 2010, West Indies in 2012 and Sri Lanka in 2014. This is for the first time India is hosting ICC World T20.
