Day five of ICC World T20 2016 saw Afghanistan beat Zimbabwe by 59 runs to qualify for Super 10 round and join as the fifth team in Group 1. Later in the evening, in a rain-curtailed match, Scotland defeated Hong Kong. All the action now shifts to Group A, with Bangladesh and Oman playing a decisive match. The eight lower ranked teams have been divided into two groups, consisting of four teams each. The top team on the points table from each group will proceed to the main round or Super 10. Group A consists of Bangladesh, Ireland, Netherlands and Oman while Zimbabwe, Afghanistan, Scotland and Oman feature in Group B. The topper from Group A will join India, Pakistan, Australia and New Zealand in Group 2 of Super 10 round. Similarly, the winner from Group B will proceed to join defending champions Sri Lanka, South Africa, England and West Indies in Group 1 of Super 10 round. Also Check- ICC World T20 Full Squads

Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association Stadium in Dharamsala will host Group A matches while Vidarbha Cricket Association Stadium in Nagpur will host games of Group B starting from March 8. The tournament proper begins on March 15, with hosts India taking on New Zealand.

Oman will feature for the first time in the ICC World T20 competition. Netherlands, Hong Kong and Scotland will make their second appearance. Fourth for Ireland and third for Afghanistan.

ICC World T20 2016 is the sixth edition of the tournament, which began in the year 2007. India were crowned the champions in the inaugural World T20 followed by Pakistan in 2009, England in 2010, West Indies in 2012 and Sri Lanka, the defending champions, in 2014.
