The latest ICC T20I Rankings are out and there is a huge change in the top three. Aaron Finch, Fakhar Zaman, and KL Rahul are the new 1-2-3 in the latest rankings. Zaman starred with 91 as Pakistan beat Australia in the Twenty20 tri-series finals by 6 wickets. And the Indian KL Rahul smashed his 2nd T20I to help India beat England in the 1st T20I at Old Trafford. He climbs to the third spot in the rankings.
Earlier, Finch, the new captain of the Australian T20I side, had a remarkable run during the tournament in Zimbabwe, scoring 68*, 172 – a world record in the format, 16, 3 and 47. Fincg was at the fourth spot in a last installment of the rankings, that means he has climbed three spots to take the numero uno spot. Australia may have found some form in the Tri-series but that was not good enough for them to clinch the title.
And credit goes to Zaman, whose 91 in the all-important finals denied the Aussie win. After the match, Finch said Zaman was a ”thorn in the flesh”.
Finch had also reached a career-high 900 points, and the new No.3 on the table, KL Rahul, did the same in the first match of three-T20I series in England, getting to 854 points.
Babar Azam, Colin Munro, and Glenn Maxwell all moved down to occupy 4,5 and 6, behind Finch, Zaman, and Rahul.
D’Arcy Short seemed like the biggest gainer he rose from the 28th spot to the 10th spot in the ratings.
