ICC Women’s World T20: Is this the way to treat a legend like Mithali Raj? Well, Mithali Raj was surprisingly dropped from the Indian team for the semi-finals against England and their unbeaten run came to an end. It is strange to understand why she was dropped, then, as she had just played a couple of match-winning knocks which also meant she bagged the player of the matches awards. Finally, the 35-year-old decided to break the silence in a letter she wrote to the Board of Control of Cricket in India (BCCI).Also Read - India vs England 5th Test a Birmingham Rescheduled to Suit Sub-Continent Viewers; Check NEW Match Timing
In the letter, she mentioned how she was neglected and coach Ramesh Powar was biased towards her ever since the squad landed in West Indies. Mithali also went on to blame Diana Edulji of discrimination. She also mentioned how Powar misused his position to humiliate her. For example, when the batters were having a knock in the nets, Powar watched carefully, but when Mithali came to bat in the nets, he walked away. She felt humiliated but did not lose her cool.
