    STUMPS! So Ajinkya Rahane and Hanuma Vihari has managed to keep New Zealand bowlers at bat in the final session after India were left struggling by Trent Boult. The session began with Boult removing Virat Kohli on 19 before Rahane and Vihari began a slow rebuild. They have so far added 31 runs for the fifth wicket. India are 144/4 in 65 overs, trail New Zealand by 39 runs in second innings.

    Over 59: Kyle Jamieson tests Ajinkya Rahane with the short stuff and cops punishment. Rahane was hit on the back of his helmet while dealing with a bouncer earlier. Seems like that has woken him up for good. The first short delivery, outside off is slashed over point fielder. Jamieson follows up with another short one and Rahae sends it away over square region for a second successive four. Score 135/4, trail by 48 runs in 2nd innings

Hello and welcome to our live coverage of day three of India vs New Zealand 1st Test at Basin Reserve, Wellington. The game is nicely poised with the hosts having their noses in front. They could have easily been in a better position had it not been for the wickets they lost late in the day on Day 2. The visitors though need to pick the remaining 5 wickets quickly as the lead is already over 50.
