India vs New Zealand Final Pitch Report:

“This is a pitch where it won’t be easy to hit sixes. A score of about 270 should be a score you could defend,” Sunil Gavaskar and Ian Bishop had opined about the match surface before the Pakistan game.

All of India’s matches in this Champions Trophy have taken place in Dubai, where the team batting second has won three out of the four games. The highest successful chase at this venue was by India, who chased down Australia’s 265-run target in the semifinal.

In the four matches of this Champions Trophy, spinners have claimed 30 wickets, averaging 35 with an economy rate of 4.77. Fast bowlers have also taken 30 wickets, but with a better average of 28 and an economy rate of 5.36.

Toss factor:
Following the semifinal, India’s captain Rohit Sharma mentioned that the team anticipated the pitch would improve for batting as the evening progressed. He also noted that they expected the surface to slow down over time.

This could influence the captain winning the toss to choose to bowl first.

However, the toss hasn’t been a significant factor in deciding the match results at this venue. Out of 62 games played, the team winning the toss has only triumphed 29 times.
