BCCI names Indian W T20I squad for T20I series against Sri Lanka W
New Delhi: The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has named India Women’s squad for the five-match T20I series against Sri Lanka which is scheduled to start form December 21. Uncapped players Gunalan Kamalini and Vaishnavi Sharma earned their first call-ups in the 15-member squad for the home white-ball series.
The series will start from December 21 to 30, with the opening two matches in Visakhapatnam and the remaining three in Thiruvananthapuram.

Kamalini has represented the Mumbai Indians (MI) in nine matches of the Women’s Premier League. Vaishnavi, 19, who is also a part of the 15-member India squad, was not drafted into the WPL auctions.
The pair had been included in the squad as a replacement of Radha Yadav and Uma Chhetri, who were part of the squad that won the maiden ICC Women’s ODI World Cup. Harmanpreet Kaur is all set to captain the side, with Smriti Mandhana serving as the vice-captain.

World Cup final hero Shafali Verma has also been picked in the squad
Explosive opening batter Shafali Verma, who was called up during the ODI World Cup squad as a replacement of injured Pratika Rawal just before the semifinal against Australia, is also included in the team.
India and Sri Lanka will face each other in a five-match T20I series just ahead of the WPL 2026, which is all set to start on January 9 in Navi Mumbai. The schedule for the Sri Lanka series was released shortly after India’s white-ball series against Bangladesh, originally set for December, was postponed last month. The two teams last met in a T20I in October 2024 during the T20 World Cup.
