New Delhi:Legendary fast bowler Shoaib Akhtar has raised expectations from the entire Pakistan team ahead of the India vs Pakistan match of Asia Cup 2025. Ahead of the clash in Dubai on Sunday, Akhtar praised the Indian team led by Suryakumar Yadav and said that this team is one of the most dominating T20 India teams.
Misbah-ul-Haq pointed to lack of experience
Former captain Misbah-ul-Haq countered by arguing that this Indian team does not have the experience of Virat Kohli. He said that a batsman like Kohli could handle the innings even after many early wickets, whereas for the new generation of players, this pressure and challenge can be more.
Strength of the middle order: Akhtar’s strong defense
But Akhtar, while responding to Misbah’s statement, made a strong argument about the depth of the middle order. He said that India has names like Rinku Singh, Sanju Samson, Shubman Gill, Tilak Varma, Suryakumar Yadav, and Jitesh Sharma. Along with this, he also included Axar Patel and Abhishek Sharma and said that this team is no longer the one that breaks down after losing a few wickets.
“This team is not easy to break”
Akhtar emphasized the strength of the middle order and said that this team will not collapse easily. This is not the team of Virat Kohli’s time which used to come under pressure after a few early wickets. Pakistan will have to start well, otherwise the Indian team will take control of the match.
