Brilliant centuries from Prithvi Shaw and Mayank Agarwal helped India A post a gigantic target of against Leicestershire in their second tour match at Grace Road, Leicester on Tuesday. Electing to bat, India A got off to a blistering start as Shaw (132) and Agarwal shared a 221-run opening stand before the latter retired hurt at his individual score of 151, which included 18 fours and 5 sixes. However, Shaw continued smashing the opposition bowlers and smacked boundaries on the sides alongside Shubman Gill on a placid Leicester wicket. He smashed 20 fours and 3 sixes in his 90-ball inning which was brought to an end by A Javid.
After Shaw’s departure, Gill up the ante and didn’t leave any chance to put the ball beyond the boundary line. He, however, fell short of a well deserved century as he got out 86. His 56-ball knock was laced with 7 fours and 5 sixes.
Towards the end of the innings, Deepak Hooda also played a handy cameo of 38 runs from 25 balls. Javid was the most expensive of the English bowlers as he gave away 91 runs in his stipulated quota of 10 overs and scalped two wickets. J Dickinson also gave away 87 runs in his 10 overs.
