After Virat Kohli, it is former Indian coach Anil Kumble who has come out in support of the Indian football captain Sunil Chettri, ahead of his historic 100th international match. India take on Kenya in their second match of the Intercontinental Cup 2018. A few days ago Sunil Chettri posted a video, where he urged fans to come to Mumbai to watch India play. Soon after that message, Virat Kohli appealed to all his fans to do the same. Now, it seems Anil Kumble has joined the bandwagon and is backing Sunil Chettri to the hilt.
Here is what Indian football skipper Sunil Chettri posted.
Here is what Virat tweeted just after that…
And then Anil Kumble posted a message that read, “The Indian football team needs all the support possible, and they’ve been working very hard to reach where they are now. Show up in numbers at the game tonight and make them proud! Good luck on your 100th international match.”
This tweet just goes on to show that even the famous cricketers are now taking interest in the sport.
Meanwhile, India beat Chinese Taipei 5-0 in their opening encounter, where Sunil Chettri led from the front netting a hat-trick. He is expected to deliver again, considering this is his 100th international.
The football fever is on with the FIFA World Cup 2018 days away. It seems Indians too have a reason to cheer.
