India vs Australia 1st T20I: India captain Virat Kohli is the current No 1 batsman in Tests and ODI’s and is the most prized scalp whenever India is playing. Adam Zampa picked up the big fish Kohli and his expression after that highlighted the importance of the wicket. In the absence of Steve Smith and David Warner, all the focus is on Kohli, even the Australian media who once compared the India captain to Donald Trump seems to be promoting the series in his name. It was probably the worst day on-the-field for the India captain in 2018, where he missed a catch, featured in an inexplicable fumble, was out for a single digit score and to make matters worse India lost by four runs.

Kohli has set such high standards for himself that people do not remember times when he scores run but keep a note of when he fails, as it rarely happens. Kohli was dismissed for four runs off eight balls when he danced down the track and wanted to take on Adam Zampa. The ball did not find the middle of the bat and was skied up in the air only for Chris Lynn to complete the catch.

Watch Zampa’s over the moon reaction on getting Kohli’s wicket.

It was Shikhar Dhawan who top-scored for India with a brilliant 76 off 42 balls. While he was at the wicket, India looked good to chase the target, unfortunately, he did not find support from the other end which led to India losing the match. Zampa was adjudicated the Man of the Match for scalping two wickets for 22 runs in his four overs.

With Australia leading the three-match T20I series 1-0, the Men in Blue would look to stage a comeback at the Melbourne Cricket Ground where the 2nd T20I will be played.
